● FREE · IN YOUR BROWSER · NO SIGNUP
Hum the melody. Play it on a piano. Drop in an MP3. ScoreFlip listens, finds the notes, and hands you a clean MIDI file — ready for your DAW, your notation app, or the next take.
Or click to browse — MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC up to 25 MB
Hum a tune, play your instrument, or sing the melody. Up to 5 minutes.
● WHY AUDIO TO MIDI
Manual transcription takes hours. Audio-to-MIDI takes seconds. Spend the saved time actually playing.
Convert a recording, drop it into your DAW, and play along at half-speed. Internalize the line in minutes, not afternoons.
The MIDI we output is plain Standard MIDI File — works in Logic, Ableton, FL Studio, Cubase, Reaper, GarageBand, Pro Tools.
Sketch a melody in the shower, sing it to your phone, walk home with the MIDI file. Composing has never been this fast.
Take a piano recording and play it back through strings, organ, or your favorite VST. The MIDI is the script — pick any actor.
● HOW IT WORKS
No browser plugins, no software install, no signup. Just upload, transcribe, download.
Drag any MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, or OGG file into the tool. Up to 25 MB. Or hit record and play live from your mic — your phone counts.
ScoreFlip's audio model detects pitch contour, note onsets, and rhythm. It quantizes to the nearest musical grid and writes a Standard MIDI File. Solo piano and clean monophonic lines get the best results.
Download the MIDI — or hop to MusicXML, PDF sheet music, or an MP4 piano-roll video. Same notes, different format. One conversion, four outputs.
● QUESTIONS
Yes. ScoreFlip's audio-to-MIDI converter is free and runs directly in your browser. The first ten conversions a month are unlimited, with no signup required. Pro removes the limit and unlocks 4K piano-roll video export.
On solo piano recordings and clean monophonic melody lines (single vocal, single instrument), ScoreFlip transcribes with around 94% pitch accuracy. Dense polyphonic mixes (full band recordings, orchestral material) are still challenging for any system — we surface confidence scores so you know which notes to trust before exporting.
MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, and AAC. The browser tool accepts files up to 25 MB or 5 minutes long. The desktop and mobile apps support larger files.
Yes. Click the red record button to capture from your microphone. Hum, sing, play your instrument, or hold the phone up to a speaker. Up to 5 minutes per take.
Standard MIDI File (SMF) format 1, which works in every digital audio workstation we know of — Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, Reaper, GarageBand, Pro Tools, Studio One, Reason, Bitwig, and more.
Right now, ScoreFlip focuses on pitched instruments — piano, guitar, voice, strings, winds, brass. Drum transcription is in beta and available in the iOS and Android apps; we're rolling it out to the web tool soon.
Audio is uploaded to ScoreFlip's transcription server for processing, then deleted immediately after — typically within 30 seconds of conversion. We never store, sell, or train on your audio.
Most often: the recording has heavy reverb, background noise, or overlapping instruments. Try a cleaner take or isolate the stem you want. The confidence score in the result tells you when ScoreFlip is unsure — those are the notes worth reviewing.
